Writing, particularly
personal writing, is often looked at in the same way prayer can be by those who
don’t believe – seemingly pointless, ineffective and a waste of time, unless
the results are clear and obvious for all to see.
And the error in that
thinking applies to both. The way in which the real power of either doesn’t usually
come about in blockbuster style miracles, but more often gradually manifests in the
ordinary, subtle and more nuanced changes to the person who then further, and with
just as much nuance, manifests change, simple and powerful, in their
surrounding world.
Never, ever, underestimate
the power of either or how often they actually collide.
